WNIT TV – Education Counts – Addressing Mental Health

Between academics and other school activities, it can be easy to miss the signs a student may be having trouble addressing emotional and mental issues. Mental health is an area only explored typically in the most traumatic of situations but should be handled more often. We take a look at how Lakeland Schools in LaGrange address the importance of a student’s mental well-being.

Northeastern Center LaGrange County staff, Nicole Johnson-Smith, Area Director, and Haley Anglin, Intake Therapist, address the struggles of mental health issues in children and adolescents.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health & Addiction Conference 2020 (Virtual)

Stigma Free Northeast Indiana will be hosting a conference on Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Addiction via webinar on October 2, 2020.

We are happy to offer this for a second year free of charge. The conference will focus on mental health and addiction including, but not limited to resources, tools, and how to reduce stigma with children and adolescents coping with mental health and/or addiction.

We have a few returning speakers, but are excited to collaborate with new speakers and have the opportunity to showcase knowledge and services that benefit the children and adolescents of Northeast Indiana.
